I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the 7th International IVO training program under the able guidance of Prof Shiina.
Multiple interesting cases were demonstrated during the 5 day course and Prof Shiina’s novel approach to each lesion provided for an academic feast! This coupled with state-of-the-art technology, made for easy learning of even the most complex cases. The course now makes me confident in tackling difficult to ablate lesions using techniques like creating artificial ascites and pleural effusion. I was also able to learn further about the usefulness of fusion technology and importance of contrast-enhanced ultrasound during ablative procedures.
It was a great platform for knowledge exchange between participants from different countries and created an overall socially amiable atmosphere. I take this opportunity to thank the entire team of Prof Shiina at Juntendo University for their hospitality! I learnt a lot and would cherish these sweet memories forever.
