Thank Prof. Shiina and all the staff in Juntendo, Medtronic for preparing this decent training program which includes lectures, hands-on, case demonstrations, and many opportunities for discussion.
Before I came here, my senior who joined the training program in 2019 told me that it would be very crowded because many people would be there to learn. Surprisingly, this time only 5 of us from Taiwan participated. And because of this, we have a lot more chances to practice and to ask questions. I think it is actually a good thing!
During these days, a lot of the cases are really challenging, including one patient with 7 tiny tumors located at a difficult or critical placating, and still Professor Shiina and the team still managed to ablate all the tumors and it is very impressive.
In my hospital we performed ablation with the combination of CT and US, US is always the most important part in the practice, during these 5 days, I learned not only the technique of US (imaging fusion, artificial effusion establishment, CEUS) but also the importance to patient positioning, and I feel I gained a lot of experience during the lessons and live demonstrations.
After I go back, I will definitely recommend my colleagues to apply to this program in the future and I also hope I will have the chance to visit here again soon.
